The Indonesian car market is set to see a fresh and new face — XPeng, a China-based next-gen electric vehicle (EV) player that specializes in innovative technology and artificial intelligence (AI). AI-Driven Innovation at the Center
During the XPeng Global Brand Night in Hong Kong, Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng reiterated that XPeng was created to break barriers in innovation.
From day one, our purpose has been to create a technology-driven business that is innovation-based,” he said.
He said that the “X” in XPeng represents their relentless pursuit of future technology and intelligent solutions, particularly in AI.
From Garage Startup to Global EV Leader
In 2014 we saw XPeng start small, out of a garage. In just a few years it shook up the automotive space with what they brought to the table:
- 2018: introduced the XPeng G3 which was the first of their cars to come with an automatic parking feature and advanced AI controls.
- 2020: put out the XPeng P7 which was all about the smart cabin and what it did for Level 2 autonomy. Also that year they broke into the record books as China’s first EV model to hit 100,000 units sold.
- 2022: rolled out the XPeng G9 which we saw make waves in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Today XPeng is looked to as a leader in the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) space in China.

Coming Soon: XPeng X9 MPV and G9 SUV in Indonesia
XPeng is to roll out our latest models into Indonesia which are the X9 electric MPV and G9 SUV. We see these products to also include advanced elements of technology in them like autonomous features, smart interior designs, and fast charge options which in turn will present Indonesian customers with a very modern and AI enhanced driving experience.
