Gotion High Tech, a leading Chinese EV battery company, is making a strong entry into Indonesia’s growing electric vehicle market. We report that the company has established two battery assembly plants in Bogor and Cikarang which play key roles in the growth of the local EV battery industry.

Battery Supply for Geely and Xpeng Starting in 2025
According to Lin Wenxiang (also known as Alim), the Sales and Marketing Manager of PT Gotion Indonesia Materials, the company is set to supply batteries for two major Chinese electric car brands—Geely and Xpeng. Both brands are expected to launch their vehicles in Indonesia in 2025.
“We are mostly business-to-business (B2B), with our target consumers being electric vehicle manufacturers,” said Alim during an interview in Jakarta on Friday, May 2, 2025. “We pack the cells into battery packs here in Indonesia, while the cells themselves are produced in China and shipped to Indonesia.”
Gotion will supply batteries for the upcoming wave of EVs, including Geely and Xpeng, set to launch in Indonesia later this year.

Gotion Batteries Already Used by Popular Chinese EV Brands in Indonesia
Alim also highlighted that several Chinese electric car brands already use Gotion batteries in Indonesia. These brands include:
According to Alim, the plan for Geely and Xpeng is to begin using Gotion batteries in their upcoming EV models launching in August 2025. Xpeng’s market entry in Indonesia is expected to take place by late 2025.
“We already have the majority of electric car brands from China using Gotion batteries,” Alim added. “These include Wuling, Neta, DFSK, and Chery. And now, with Geely and Xpeng joining in, Gotion batteries will power most of the EVs on the road in Indonesia.”
