Jakarta – Chinese automaker Geely is showing strong commitment to the Indonesian automotive market. After launching the Geely EX5 electric car at IIMS 2025, the brand is preparing to introduce at least two more new car models in Indonesia this year.

Geely’s Expansion Plans in 2025
Yusuf Anshori, Geely Auto Indonesia’s Brand Director, has assured that Geely is going to introduce one or two new cars in 2025. Although the precise launch dates haven’t been made official, Geely expects the new cars to make their appearance at GIIAS 2025 (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show).
“This year, the plan is maybe one or two (new cars) that we will introduce. For the launch, we don’t know when yet,” said Yusuf during the Geely EX5 Handover Ceremony and Geely Go Launch event in Jakarta (19 April 2025).
He added that the upcoming model will also be an electric vehicle (EV) and will likely have a price range similar to the EX5, which is currently between IDR 475 million and IDR 515 million.
EX5: Geely’s First EV for Indonesia
The Geely EX5, launched at IIMS 2025, is offered in two variants:
- EX5 Pro: IDR 475 million
- EX5 Max: IDR 515 million

Geely also provides a strong after-sales service package for EX5 buyers:
- 8-year/180,000 km warranty (car and battery)
- 5-year emergency assistance
- 24-hour customer call center
- Free 7kW wall charger or OEM accessories for purchases until end of March 2025

Local Production Set for Q3 2025

Geely recently announced that it has successfully delivered 1,000 units of the EX5 to Indonesian customers. These vehicles were imported fully built (CBU) from China.
However, starting from the third quarter of 2025, the EX5 will be locally assembled (CKD) at PT Handal Motor Indonesia’s factory in Purwakarta, West Java.
“CKD (EX5) is the third quarter of this year,” Yusuf concluded.
