PT Jetour Motor Indonesia extended an invitation for us to try out the Jetour T1 and T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. The experience was made possible before these SUVs might be launched in Indonesia.

Jetour T1 PHEV Test Drive Impressions
- Engine Specifications
- 1,998 cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine
- 250 hp and 390 Nm torque
- 4WD with an 8-speed automatic transmission

- Test Drive Impressions
- Acceleration: The T1 performed well, especially in mid to high engine speeds, showing strong acceleration.
- Braking: The brakes were effective, although the car’s brakes seemed a little hard during the test.
- Suspension: Suspension was fairly stiff, enhancing handling but causing some rear-seat movement on sharp turns.
- Maneuverability: The T1 handled well through the zig-zag cones, with its harder suspension enhancing its ability to tackle tight corners.
Jetour T2 PHEV Test Drive Impressions

- 1,499 cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine
- 221 hp and 390 Nm torque
- AWD with a 3-speed automatic DHT transmission
- 70-liter fuel tank and a 26.7 kWh LiFePo battery with a 139 km electric range
- Test Drive Impressions:
- Acceleration: The T2 impressed with its seamless blend of electric and turbo engine power, providing a responsive driving experience.
- Braking: The brakes were smoother and more refined than the T1, with greater control.
- Suspension: The suspension on T2 was softer, giving smoother passage over speed traps but at the cost of a little more body roll during handling maneuvers.
- Maneuverability: While easier to maneuver, the softer suspension caused more swaying than the T1, particularly when cornering quickly.

Test Drive Summary
- Performance: In terms of what the Jetour T1 and T2 bring to the table both models do very well in terms of acceleration, maneuverability and braking action which the T2 does better at with its hybrid powertrain which also contributes to a smoother more refined drive.
- Suspension & Comfort: The T1 has a firm suspension which does great for handling, the T2 on the other hand has a softer ride which is very comfortable but does increase body roll during turns which is a trade off.
- Interior & Luxury: We see in both the T1 and T2 very roomy and luxurious interiors that are loaded with premium materials which in turn gives a very comfortable ride for passengers.
- Off-Road Capability: The T1 and T2 do very well off the road, they are great for weekend getaways which we attribute to their strong performance and high quality suspension systems.
Conclusion
Both Jetour T1 and T2 i-DM (PHEV) do have very good performance and top features which at the same time present some differences. T1 is known for it’s precise handling and powerful engine performance, on the other hand T2 provides a smoother more luxury ride with its hybrid powertrain.
- Next Steps: Jetour Motor Indonesia has not made an official announcement on the launch date for these models in Indonesia, although they are likely to enter the market very soon. Both SUVs are meant to offer a high-performance, agile driving experience, comfortable for use on city streets or off-road.
