Chinese automobile manufacturer Jetour has launched local production of its first two car models in Indonesia, which will be assembled at the newly operational plant in Bekasi. This is following the arrival of Jetour’s popular SUV models in the Indonesian market, Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus. These were featured during GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024, a formal entry of the brand into the Indonesian automotive landscape.

Locally made SUVs – Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus
Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus are representations of the brand’s move to bring high-tech, flexible SUVs to the local market. Both the Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus carry the brand’s signature design language with advance tech specifications. These SUVs are targeted at attracting the urban driver who wants something reliable, stylish, and practical for everyday use.
Jetour set competitive prices to these models during the period of pre-order within October and November 2024. The Jetour Dashing is priced IDR 389.8 million per unit, while Jetour X70 Plus is priced IDR 414.8 million. These prices are only applicable on the road (OTR) in Jakarta in order to be competitive within the SUV Indonesian automotive market.

Future Developments: Hybrid and Electric Cars in the Next Phase
Though the company is producing the first two models as petrol variants, Jetour has ambitious plans for the future and informed that it will expand its range in Indonesia by offering hybrid and electric cars shortly in Indonesia as the demand for such greener alternatives is growing in the region and also the country is embracing the technologies of greener ways to maintain a cleaner environment in Indonesia’s automobile industry.
Adding hybrid and electric vehicles would not only satisfy the environmental requirements but would also meet the demand of an eco-friendly Indonesian consumer. Jetour would, hence emerge as a modern automobile brand in the market of Indonesia.

The strategic move made by Jetour in opting to source from Indonesia was seen within the country as it underscored its relevance to their regional growth. Its plant location in Bekasi would significantly improve production efficiency and provide the ability to meet domestic lead times effectively.
