JAKARTA – Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has reinforced its commitment to the Indonesian market by shipping 2,500 electric cars from MPC Port in Hai Phong, Vietnam, to Jakarta, Indonesia. The shipment, transported via the special carrier Silver Queen, marks the fourth and largest batch delivered to Indonesia.

Four EV Models for the Indonesian Market
The latest shipment includes four models tailored for Indonesia:
- VF 3
- VF 5
- VF e34
- Nerio Green
These models have been specifically designed with right-hand drive to cater to Indonesian consumers.
Sales Growth Expected in 2025
VinFast’s Global Deputy CEO for Sales, Duong Thi Thu Trang, was upbeat regarding the future of the brand in Indonesia.
“We are backed by a strong ecosystem and a lineup of smart and modern cars, so we are aiming for remarkable sales milestones this year,” she said on March 11, 2025.
The shipment, which left on March 8, is due to arrive in Jakarta between March 11-12, subject to weather. At the port, VinFast will distribute the EVs to dealerships so that customers can take delivery of their cars before Eid festivities.
Indonesia: A Key Market for VinFast
Indonesia is very important to VinFast as it plans to expand its business into Southeast Asia and this Indonesia enjoys swift adoption of new electric vehicle technology. Cadre of models currently offered by VinFast in Indonesia is three strong: the VF 3, VF 5, and VF e34.
The company has also introduced Xanh SM, a fully electric taxi service launched in late 2024, and V-Green, an initiative to accelerate the development of EV charging infrastructure across Indonesia.
