The VinFast VF 3, a Vietnamese compact electric SUV, was highly sought after during the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). It was the most tested vehicle, with more than 1,500 test drives in just 10 days.
VinFast CEO Pham Sanh Chau said that this success demonstrates the company’s efforts to bring innovative and environmentally friendly transport solutions to Indonesia.

Impressive Demand for VF 3
Our newest VF 3 has been getting an exceptionally high level of interest. Demand for it has been strong, it really seems you can’t find it on the shelf because it sells so fast.
Since its launch in Vietnam VinFast 3 has been drawing very strong interest. Within three days alone it received pre-orders of 27, 400 and thus it has become leading in auto industry in Vietnam in 2024.
At IIMS 2025 the VF 3 was tested 1582 times and averaged a little less than 150 test drives per day. Many attendees hankered to give the car a try and some really showed keen interest in purchasing it.
Affordable and Practical for City Driving
Pham Sanh noted that rising car prices in Indonesia have made vehicle ownership more difficult. The VF 3 offers a compact, functional, and budget-friendly alternative for urban drivers.
The car is 3,190 mm long and 1,652 mm high, making it ideal for city roads. It comes equipped with 16-inch wheels and 175 mm ground clearance, offering stability as well as ease of commuting for daily use.

VinFast’s Buyback Program and Special Offers
To attract Indonesian buyers, VinFast offers several incentives:
- A discount of IDR 7.85 million for the first 1,000 buyers
- A cashback of IDR 30 million or free charging for three years for purchases before June 30, 2025
- A buyback program allowing customers to resell their VF 3 at:
- 90% of the price after six months
- 86% after one year
- 78% after two years
- 70% after three years

A Step Toward an EV Future in Indonesia
The VF 3 is just one part of VinFast’s bigger plan to increase its presence in Indonesia. The company is building a charging station network, dealerships, and after-sales services. Subsequent models such as the VF 5 and VF e34 will also be launched to consolidate the brand presence.
