Lexus is to present their latest version of the popular ES sedan at the Shanghai International Auto Industry Exhibition (Shanghai Auto Show) in 2025 which is to take place from April 23 to May 2. This new model is to put forth a large step in Lexus’ global push for electrification which also includes focus on excellent driving comfort.
Also reported via the company’s website the 8th generation of the Lexus ES is to put forward the flag ship sedan for the brand which may see the present LS model discontinued. Lexus is to provide a more sustainable and refined driving experience with this new generation which also plays into the great demand for eco friendly vehicles.

A Fresh Look: Design Changes and Modern Features
We see from the teaser images of the new ES that they went with a more streamlined, aerodynamic design. The car has adopted a fastback style roofline which gives it a very contemporary and dynamic look. Also the front of the car has been reworked which includes the split into two elements of the LED headlamps that play up the cars forward looking design. Also the famous Lexus spindle grille has been given a face lift for a more polished look.
In the back the Lexus ES has wider tail lamps and artificial vents which play into its very put together design. From the side note the large multi spoke alloy rims that enhance the car’s luxurious and assertive look.

A Step Toward Electrification: Hybrid Powertrain Expected
We don’t have all the details on engine options just yet, but it does appear the new ES will mainly be available in a hybrid version. Also Lexus is to increase its focus on electrified vehicles with this model which is a step in the company’s growth within the hybrid and electric vehicle markets.
Reported to include a 2.5 liter A25A-FXS four cylinder engine which will be put to work with a 118 hp electric motor, the hybrid power train is to produce a total of 215 horsepower. This power train is said to deliver great performance as well as efficiency which makes the new ES an excellent choice for those that want it all – performance and sustainability.

What’s to come for the Lexus ES?
Lexus is set to release the 8th generation of the ES in which we see a large shift from what we have had since 2018 that included two face lifts in 2021 and 2024. The full redesign of the ES will bring out even more luxury, tech, and eco options to the consumer.
