BYD’s luxury electric vehicle brand Denza has opened four new showrooms in Indonesia. This is the start of its sales drive in the nation, after receiving interest in the Denza D9, an electric luxury MPV that competes with the Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM350.
Denza also made a grand entry at the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), registering more than 1,000 bookings for the D9. In turn, BYD Indonesia has opened new Denza outlets in BSD City (Tangerang), Pluit (Jakarta), Kelapa Gading (Jakarta), and Denpasar (Bali).

BYD’s Strategy for Denza Expansion
Luther Panjaitan, Head of Marketing PR & Government Relations at BYD Indonesia, emphasized that the new Denza dealerships are part of BYD’s broader sales network.
“All Denza dealerships meet 3S standards. We trust our existing BYD dealer partners to handle Denza’s expansion because of their aggressive and collaborative approach,” Luther explained.
He also mentioned that BYD Indonesia is still analyzing the market for Denza and is considering opening dealerships in more major cities.
About Denza D9

Right now, Denza only sells one premium product in Indonesia, the Denza D9. The Denza D9 is a box-shaped luxury MPV with huge sizes and electrically operated sliding doors, making it a straight-up rival of Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM350.
The Denza D9 comes in Indonesia only in a fully electric (BEV) form. It features a BYD Blade (LFP) Battery with 103 kWh capacity, giving a driving range of up to 600 km from a full charge.
Charging options include:
- AC charging: Up to 11 kW (3-phase)
- DC fast charging: Up to 166 kW
Its synchronous permanent magnet motor produces 230 kW power and 360 Nm torque to provide a silky smooth and robust drive.

Conclusion
Denza’s plans to launch four new dealerships in Indonesia is a strategic one to meet the increasing demand for luxury electric vehicles. The 3S-service-equipped dealerships will improve the customer experience and provide the best service and support. As Denza D9 becomes more popular, expansion is likely to continue in other large Indonesian cities as well.
