Mitsubishi Motors is ready to debut its newest product, the Mitsubishi DST Concept SUV, in Indonesia —meaning that it is the first place in the entire world to debut the model. It was unveiled at the Philippines International Motor Show (PIMS) 2024 and then more recently in Vietnam, but now the DST Concept is heading for a debut at a major Indonesian auto show.
This new 7-seater mid-size SUV is made for both families and adventure-seekers. Mitsubishi plans to position the DST Concept alongside top models like the Xpander and Xforce, marking its strong focus on the ASEAN market.

Bold and Stylish Exterior of Mitsubishi DST Concept
The Mitsubishi DST Concept features a bold, square-shaped body that gives it a strong road presence. With its boxy silhouette, sharp lines, and modern SUV styling, it’s designed to turn heads.
Key highlights of the exterior:
- The iconic Dynamic Shield front grille with 3D effects and glass-covered honeycomb design
- Side cameras instead of traditional mirrors for a sleek look
- High ground clearance, large tires, and chunky wheel arches for an off-road-ready feel
- Dark-painted side pillars for a floating-roof appearance
This design perfectly balances modern elegance with rugged utility.
Spacious and Premium Interior of Mitsubishi DST Concept
Inside, the Mitsubishi DST Concept offers a modern and family-focused layout. Revealed in Vietnam for the first time, the interior shows how Mitsubishi is pushing toward a premium experience without losing practicality.
Interior highlights:

- Digital dashboard clock connected to a large touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the Xforce
- Rotary knob for drive modes and a futuristic gear lever
- Plenty of legroom in all three rows, including a comfortable third-row seat
- A foldable table in the second row, perfect for kids, snacks, or working on the go
Mitsubishi is clearly aiming at family buyers who want comfort, convenience, and flexibility.

Smart Features and Safety Tech in Mitsubishi DST Concept
Though Mitsubishi has not yet shared the engine and gearbox details, the Mitsubishi DST Concept is loaded with smart features and technology aimed at safe and smooth driving.
Technology features include:
- Five selectable driving modes for various terrains and driving styles
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for safety
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including lane support, emergency braking, and more
These features show Mitsubishi’s focus on offering next-gen safety and convenience in this new SUV.
Why Mitsubishi DST Concept is Launching First in Indonesia
Mitsubishi’s decision to debut the DST Concept globally in Indonesia is a major step that highlights the brand’s growing trust in the local market. Indonesia has already shown strong sales for the Xpander and other models, making it an ideal launchpad.
According to Atsushi Kurita, President Director of MMKSI:
“We decided to release this model in Southeast Asia this year, with production starting in Indonesia and the first market launch here.”
This means the DST Concept will not only debut here but will also be produced locally, adding more value to Indonesian buyers.

What’s Next for the Mitsubishi DST Concept SUV?
The final production version of the Mitsubishi DST concept is expected to be officially unveiled at a future event (eg. GIIAS 2025) and details will be released! Automotive enthusiasts locally are anticipating details on, engine specifications, variants, pricing, and launching of the DST.
If Mitsubishi stays production aligned with the features of the concept version, the DST concept SUV would develop into one of the best family-friendly SUVs in Indonesia, characterized by modern styling, innovative features and spacious comfort
