Great Wall Motor (GWM) in to expand its portfolio has what is to be the introduction of a new member from the Tank family. This addition is to put GWM forward in the growing Indonesian SUV segment.
Also on May 28, 2025 GWM’s Sales and Network Director Lisa Wijaya broke the news that the company will be putting out a new Tank model very soon. But at this time we do not have info on what the model is.
“We will soon launch a new variant in the Tank family line. What we will launch, just wait, we will provide information later,” said Lisa in Jakarta.

Current Lineup of Tank SUVs in Indonesia
GWM Indonesia currently offers two popular models from the Tank family:
Tank 300
- Design: Tough SUV for navigating off-road surfaces with complete ease.
- Engine: Equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine.
- Power Output: 217 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.
- Drive System: Four-wheel drive (4WD) with dedicated modes for off-road driving.
Tank 500
- Segment: A premium SUV designed for the high-end segment.
- Engine: 3.0-liter V6 turbo hybrid engine.
- Power Output: 349 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
- Luxury Features: Leather and wood interior, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control.
These two models cater to different market needs: the Tank 300 for off-road enthusiasts and the Tank 500 for customers seeking both performance and luxury.

Global Expansion and New Innovations
Global at Auto Shanghai 2025 GWM put on display the new Tank 500 Hi4-Z PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) which is a large step in the brand’s plan to put out more eco friendly options in the SUV market. This model which was rolled out globally is a combination of power and environment friendly technology.
