Great Wall Motor (GWM) Indonesia has received international recognition after being awarded for achieving the highest global sales performance of the GWM Tank 500 SUV. The announcement was made at the GWM Global Dealer Conference in China, held on April 24, 2025, during the Auto Shanghai 2025 event.
In past 12 months the Tank 500 accounted for almost 50% of GWM Indonesia’s total vehicle sales which is an indicator of strong consumer interest in the luxury hybrid SUV segment.

Tank 500: A Premium SUV Favorite in Indonesia

Since its launch in Indonesia, the GWM Tank 500 has won the hearts of SUV fans due to its powerful physique, spacious premium interior, spirited performance, and sophisticated technology.
Equipped with a 2.0L Turbo Hybrid powerplant, the SUV generates 342 hp and 648 Nm of torque, presenting a robust yet economical drive. It also boasts sophisticated 4WD features such as:
- Differential lock
- Crawl control
- Multiple off-road driving modes
All these features position the Tank 500 for both urban driving and off-road exploits.
The Tank 500 has upscale comfort features such as a panoramic sunroof, high-end audio system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and active safety tech, positioning it for daily usage and long-distance commuting.
