Jakarta – Volkswagen (VW) is making waves in Indonesia’s electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of the VW ID. Buzz, the electric version of the legendary VW Kombi. First introduced at the 2024 GIIAS exhibition, the eco-friendly minivan has received significant attention from Indonesian consumers.
According to Ahmad Badawi, Head of Sales & Marketing at PT Garuda Mataram Motor (Volkswagen Indonesia), the ID. Buzz has already garnered around 300 orders. “Quite a lot. Around 300. It turns out that our products are quite appreciated by Indonesian customers,” he said during a recent event in Jakarta on March 13, 2025.

Two Variants with Premium Pricing
The 300 orders include two types: the ID. Buzz NWB (Normal Wheel Base) and the ID. Buzz LWB (Long Wheel Base), launched at IIMS 2025 in February. The price of these models is as below:
- ID. Buzz NWB: IDR 1.3 billion
- ID. Buzz LWB: IDR 1.495 billion
Delivery Timeline for Customers

For those who have placed orders, deliveries of the ID. Buzz LWB version will begin in May 2025. Badawi confirmed that some customers will receive their units in May, while others may have to wait until June or even August, depending on their order schedule.

Key Differences Between ID. Buzz NWB and LWB
While both variants share the same futuristic design and electric powertrain, they differ in size and battery capacity:

- ID. Buzz NWB: 4,712 mm in length, 2,989 mm wheelbase
- ID. Buzz LWB: 4,962 mm in length, 3,239 mm wheelbase
The longer body of the LWB model allows for a larger cabin, thus making it the preferred option for those who value comfort and cabin space.
Battery and Range
- ID. Buzz NWB: 79 kWh battery, range of up to 461 km
- ID. Buzz LWB: 86 kWh battery, range of up to 487 km
A bigger battery is available in the LWB model, which translates to a bit longer driving range, making it suitable for intercity travel.
