MABI Motors, Indonesia’s pioneer electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, continues to drive the country’s transition towards clean transport. Established in 2017 by General TNI (Ret.) Dr. Moeldoko, MABI provides an integrated series of zero-emission vehicles ranging from e-buses, e-trucks, e-double cabins, and e-scooters customized for domestic applications. Prioritizing innovation, local content, and strategic alliances, the company is speeding up Indonesia’s clean mobility revolution.

MABI recently completed the official handover (BAST) of five electric compactor garbage trucks to the Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH). This marks a crucial step in Jakarta’s transition to cleaner waste management practices. It also plays a key role in modernizing the municipal fleet with environmentally responsible alternatives.
“Electric compactor trucks are emission-free and run quietly. They are part of our drive to upgrade DLH’s waste collection system and enhance air quality in Jakarta,” said Asep Kuswanto, DLH Head, during the handover on April 14, 2025.

Each of the five electric compactor garbage trucks delivered by MABI has a 6-cubic-meter capacity. Their compact dimensions are suited for urban routes, and the lightweight chassis improves efficiency. The trucks are driven by a 1.5 kW, 3-phase plug-in system. They also enjoy super-fast charging technology, with a full charge in only 20 to 30 minutes.
MABI Motors has established Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) at key locations, including the DLH truck pool, the Rorotan RDF Plant, and TPST Bantargebang, to support the vehicles’ integration into daily operations.
DLH has also equipped operators with technical training to ensure smooth adaptation and efficient usage. “The trucks are easy to operate and similar to conventional diesel compactors, making the transition seamless,” Asep added.

By deploying these electric compactor garbage trucks, MABI Motors not only strengthens its position as a pioneer in commercial EV manufacturing but also contributes meaningfully to Indonesia’s environmental goals. This project is a model for how local innovation can meet urban sustainability challenges head-on.
