GWM Starts Haval Jolion Production in Indonesia

JAKARTA – GWM Indonesia and Inchcape Automotive Indonesia officially launched the locally assembled Haval Jolion HEV from the assembly line at the Inchcape Manufacturing Facility in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java. This marks the inauguration of local production for the Haval Jolion HEV, a Hybrid SUV which promises efficiency, comfort, and practicality for buyers.

This is a landmark achievement and is in line with the company’s vision to expand its presence in the Indonesian market, which has a positive bearing on the growth of the country’s automotive sector, particularly the NEV segment.

The Inaugural Ceremony Marks a Major Milestone

Haval launched the Jolion HEV in Indonesia in July 2024 and received great public attention. In fact, the main inauguration ceremony was held inside Hall 7 of the Inchcape Manufacturing Facility, where public leaders from the two companies were present; there was also a symbolic cutting of the ribbon that marked the beginning of the first local assembly of the Haval Jolion HEV.

At the launch ceremony, Ruslan Kinebas, Asia-Pacific region’s CEO of Inchcape Plc, feels exhilarated with the launch and said during an address:

Not only does it represent the close partnership between GWM and Inchcape, but it also reinforces the strength of Inchcape in terms of high-quality automobile solutions in the Indonesian market.

Future Vision for Inchcape Automotive Indonesia

According to him, the excitement of the Indonesian market toward GWM has played a part in establishing a local assembly line for vehicles.

Khoo added that local production of the Haval Jolion HEV would play a strategic role in supporting Indonesia’s NEV ecosystem, paving the way for more sustainable automotive solutions in the region.

Commitment to Quality and Innovation: GWM

The GWM production line stretches over 20,277 square meters while falling within a mega facility that spreads across 411,392 square meters. The plant has a production capacity of about 7,000 units per year and is managed by a professional team of 100 people in areas such as production, engineering, logistics, and quality management.

This commitment to quality is also reflected in its investment in human resources, discussed earlier. The Quality Management Division in the facility is well schooled by GWM Headquarters on expertise to handle the Quality Management System and processes. In the process, the group would be able to consider as Qualified Authorized Quality Control Representatives on behalf of GWM in Indonesia.

This was found in a global program that had participants from four countries, showing that the Indonesian representatives were able to outperform others by demonstrating their mastery skills in acquiring training materials related to quality management.

Extension of the NEV Ecosystem in Indonesia

In its larger strategy, GWM has taken a big step into the local assembly of the Haval Jolion HEV, which is an effort in supporting the growing ecosystem of new energy vehicles in Indonesia. As demand for hybrids and electric vehicles continues to rise, GWM’s presence will complement the country’s push toward a greener future and a reduced carbon footprint in the transportation sector.
