The Chery Tiggo Cross is a success in the Indonesian market, and orders are placed at 1,500 units per month. Demand is ahead of production currently, and thus there is a two-month wait for consumers.
According to Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), the company is struggling to keep up with the demand for the Tiggo Cross. “We are currently overwhelmed with orders. Our production capacity is around 600 units per month, while orders are coming in at 1,500 units monthly. As a result, there is a delay of approximately two months for new orders,” Budi explained during a press conference in Shanghai on April 22, 2025.

Competitive Pricing Drives Demand
The excellent sales of the Tiggo Cross can be accounted for through the competitive pricing. At the time of the SUV’s initial release, Chery Indonesia provided a special discount of IDR 10 million for the first 1,000 customers. Even after the special promotion, the Tiggo Cross still offers excellent value for money, with consistent demand.
The Tiggo Cross comes in two variants:
- Comfort variant priced at IDR 249,500,000
- Premium variant priced at IDR 279,500,000 (OTR Jakarta)
Increased Production to Meet Demand
Due to the high demand, Chery Indonesia has boosted its production capacity. The company was originally only producing 300 units a month, but this has now been raised to 600 units a month.
