JAKARTA – PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) brought the Tiggo 8 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) to the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), attracting significant attention from visitors.
From VOI’s monitoring on Tuesday, February 18, this car was displayed at the Chery booth. Unfortunately, this model was only exhibited and not yet available for sale. Mohamad Ilham Pratama, Head of Marketing at PT Chery Sales Indonesia, confirmed this while testing the Tiggo Cross at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK).
“We brought the Tiggo 8 PHEV, but it has only been introduced and is not yet sold,” he said.
This model already has an Australian launch in the Philippines, with a contemporary and futuristic design. The 7-seat cabin is roomy, with a big infotainment screen and a panoramic sunroof to get an airy ambience.

Powertrain and Performance
In the Philippines, the Tiggo 8 PHEV is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 153 Tk and 230 Nm of torque. Chery claims a total range of 1,300 km from a full fuel tank combined with its electric motor drive.
Tiggo 8 PHEV: A New Contender in the Hybrid SUV Market
The Tiggo 8 PHEV is a plug-in hybrid variant of Chery’s top-of-the-line three-row SUV, combining fuel economy with robust power. With its hybrid powertrain, it hopes to provide lower emissions and lower fuel consumption, appealing to environmentally friendly consumers.

Premium Features and Technology
Chery has fitted the Tiggo 8 PHEV with advanced features that incorporate:
- Digitally fully instrument cluster
- Big infotainment touchscreen

- Roomy 7-seater layout
- Panoramic sunroof for improved cabin ambiance
Strategic Market Introduction
Chery’s move to debut the Tiggo 8 PHEV during IIMS 2025 has several objectives:

Not yet available for sale, its show at the event indicates Chery’s plan for moving into the Indonesian hybrid market.
