New VinFast EV Design Registered in Indonesia
Based on a recent registration on the official Intellectual Property Database (PDKI) of Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights, VinFast has filed a new industrial design application. The document, under registration number A00202502638, includes seven images that showcase a compact, modern-looking EV.
The application was filed on May 20, 2025, and publicly announced on May 26, 2025. The design features a rounded and sleek body, single side doors on each side, and a signature VinFast front fascia. These design elements are consistent with the brand’s latest styling approach.

While the new model’s name hasn’t been officially confirmed, its design strongly resembles the VinFast Minio Green, which is already sold in Vietnam. This micro EV is the smallest in VinFast’s lineup and is typically used for urban commuting or public transport purposes.

Targeted Use and Market Positioning
In Vietnam, the Minio Green is mainly used as a green public transport vehicle—especially by Xanh SM, a local taxi operator that also uses VinFast electric models like the VF e34. If launched in Indonesia, the compact size and affordability could make this model an ideal city car for daily use.

Conclusion: Strong Contender for Indonesian Mini EV Market
VinFast’s activity shows it has serious intentions to grow its stake in Indonesia, particularly in the urban EV sector. If it launches the new model with market rate pricing and more support for local users, it could be a potent competitor to the Wuling Air EV, which continues to gain traction within eco-inclined Indonesian buyers seeking lower-end electric alternatives.
