From the launch in January 2024, the MG 4 EV has grown to become among the top favorite electric vehicles (EVs) in Indonesia for its performance, affordability, and high technology.

Local Production and Affordability Incentives
The MG 4 EV is manufactured locally in Indonesia as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) model, in compliance with the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) requirement of 40%. The action not only promotes local production but also makes the vehicle cheaper for Indonesian consumers. In complying with the TKDN requirements, the MG 4 EV gets a 10% Value Added Tax (VAT) incentive, which reduces its price further.
Performance and Driving Experience
The MG 4 EV packs strong performance considering it is an electric car. Equipped with a 51 kWh battery pack, it boasts a range of 425 km per charge. It has its fast-charging system that loads the battery between 10% and 80% in under 35 minutes, which certainly helps when crossing long distances. Its rear-wheel drive ensures super-efficient acceleration as it hits a 0-100 km/h in only 7.7 seconds.

Smart Features and Technology
Topping the i-SMART technology, the MG 4 EV couples several smart features to raise the bar for convenience and driving enjoyment. It comes with a 10.25-inch high-resolution infotainment screen in the cabin, providing easy control over multimedia, navigation, and car settings. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice command are additional features provided by the vehicle for easier management of many vehicle functions.
Other features such as smart navigation, USB outlets, and a wireless charging pad for smartphones provide convenience for everyday use. The MG iSMART connectivity enables users to remotely control their car, for example, checking the battery level, adjusting the air conditioning, or locating parking spots through their smartphone.
Safety Features and Identification
Safety is of highest importance to MG Motor in the MG 4 EV, and the car has secured 5-star ratings from pre-eminent safety bodies such as EURO NCAP, ANCAP, and GREEN NCAP. The car comes with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and electronic stability control, providing maximum protection for both the driver and passengers.

The MG 4 EV has also been awarded for its innovation and quality both domestically and globally. It received the ‘Best Family Electric Car‘ award at the 2024 Carbuyer Awards and the ‘2024 Small Electric Car‘ award from What Car? Awards. On the national level, it received the ‘Best Engineering Excellence Award of the Year’ at the Carvaganza Editor’s Choice Awards 2023, thanks to the integration of the 2023 Nebula Pure Electric Platform and the Rubik’s Cube battery.
