A Benchmark for Indonesia’s Automotive Sector
This partnership is conducted via Mobitech Co., Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of Changan Automobile dedicated to international trade and overseas market operations. PT IMG Sejahtera Langgeng, a subsidiary of Indomobil Group, meanwhile, will handle the sales and distribution of Changan cars throughout Indonesia.
Andrew Nasuri, Indomobil Group’s Director, was proud to have established this strategic alliance and said:
“We aim to supply good quality and durable automobiles for the population of Indonesia using our years of experience in the automotive business along with a very good network of distributors.”
He further emphasized how Chinese automotive companies have advanced significantly in recent years:”Maybe 20 years ago, Chinese automotive technology was still developing, but now it is extraordinary. Chinese manufacturers have successfully entered the global market, and we see a huge opportunity with Changan.”
Changan’s Entrance into Indonesia
Under this pact, Changan will launch a range of models, such as electric vehicles (EVs) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The Indonesian market holds great potential for both commercial and passenger cars, and therefore, this partnership is a decisive move for the global expansion of Changan.
Shen Xinhua, Changan Southeast Asia Business Unit General Manager, pointed out Indonesia’s market potential:
“We are highly excited to collaborate with Indomobil, which has a long history of distributing cars in Indonesia. We think this collaboration will deliver tremendous value to Indonesian consumers and help drive the growth of vehicle adoption.”
