The commercial launch of VISION.ev is scheduled for 2025, with production commencing in the first quarter of the year.
Production Plans and Facility
IMOTO Indonesia’s Co-Founder, Antony Lesmana, revealed ambitious production plans during the introductory session. “We plan to start production in Q1 2025,” Lesmana announced. He detailed the production capabilities of their facility located in Cikarang. “Our factory is in Cikarang, and for the first stage of production, the number will be 1,000 units per month and will continue to increase over time,” he added. This phased approach ensures a steady supply to meet anticipated demand while allowing for scalability.
Commitment to Local Components
IMOTO has made a bold commitment to use domestic components, aiming for a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) exceeding 75 percent. “Later, TKDN will continue to increase to 85 percent in 2026,” Lesmana stated. This focus on local content not only supports the Indonesian economy but also aligns with national regulations promoting domestic manufacturing.
Vision and Ambition
Antony Lesmana shared IMOTO’s broader vision and ambition within the electric vehicle industry. “Our industry scale is probably like ‘humble position with high ambition’,” he remarked. IMOTO aspires to become a leader in the production of electric two-wheeled vehicles, driven by innovation and a commitment to sustainability.
Product Design and Features
VISION.ev is a testament to Indonesian ingenuity, being designed and developed by local talent over a span of 2.5 years. The motorcycle boasts advanced features, including a fast-charging capability that charges the battery from 20 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. The 5.7 kWh battery provides a maximum range of 160 km and a top speed of 105 km/h, making it a practical and efficient option for urban commuting.
Ecosystem of Charging Stations
Understanding that product innovation alone is not enough, IMOTO is also focusing on building a comprehensive ecosystem to support electric vehicle adoption. IMOTO Co-Founder, Doddy Lukito, highlighted their plans for extensive charging infrastructure. “Our target is that each city will be equipped with at least 200 electric motorbike charging points, which are planned to be in the first stage of the launch,” Lukito explained. This initiative aims to alleviate range anxiety and make electric motorcycles a viable option for daily transportation.
