The long-awaited Indonesia Cub Meeting 2024 took place on 10th November at Mitra Terrace in South Jakarta, where motorcycle enthusiasts gathered for an unforgettable annual celebration. A motorcycle-duck-lovers festival was truly humongous, rallying 1,500 motorcycle riders from all over Indonesia to celebrate their love for the classic motorcycles.
The Indonesia Cub Meeting 2024 is a clear proof of how duck motors remain the classic icons loved in Indonesia.
Massive Display of Enthusiasm and Unity
The third installment of the event continues to prove that motorcycle duck culture in the country is fast becoming a phenomenon. During the event, the riders flocked from the country’s major cities: Sukabumi, Serang, Bandung, Tasikmalaya, Semarang, and Lampung. The enthusiasts braved the roads with their motorcycles, each model and brand reflecting their personalities.
Byon Aryawan, coordinator of Ngangon Bebek community exclaimed, “We were too shocked and thankful that people filled the venue, “We did not think the passion of the participants themselves would be this high, all around Indonesia.” The feeling of community was a huge pull throughout the event, the force through which sharing one passion in regard to duck motorcycles unites.

Theme: ‘Community for Unity’
This event theme, ‘Community for Unity’, underscored the core mission of the event: to bring together motorcycle duck enthusiasts and celebrate Heroes’ Day. In one way or another, this event was an avenue for the riders to bond, share experiences, and mark their passion together. On the same note, Byon Aryawan said, “The theme Community for Unity forms an appreciation unto the duck motorcycle community, uniting them in the spirit of togetherness.”
The Iconic Riding Gembira
Riding Gembira would have had to fall within the peripherals of the Indonesia Cub Meeting, since it was one of its most revered traditions. That was fun ride took off from Taman Mataram, Kebayoran Baru, before winding down Sudirman Street and making a loop at the HI Roundabout, back its way up on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to finish at Partner Terrace. Not only did such a procession bring out the bonding riders have with their motorbikes but also brought festivity to the gathering.
Each bike was decorated uniquely, and creatively, with some people coming in to bring back old models into their previous glory or show their remarkable modifications as the best reflections of the ingenuity and creativity of the community.
Classic Bikes and Community Creativity to be Celebrated
The meeting had enough space for riders, restorers, and modifiers who could show off their magnificent icons, that is, the duck motorcycles. Some of the bikes at the meeting ranged from the good old 1950s up to the latest Super Cub and JDM duck models. With such a wide range of bikes-there are those vintage few and others that have been modified with distinctive features-it shows a strong passion for the duck motorcycle.
The local vendors selling different products is another mode through which community creativity was reflected. The coffee stalls were another favorite at the event, which became a favorite rendezvous for riders sharing tales and reveling in steamy drinks. The commendable activities included corrupt activities-the community-created challenges and fun activities-which left everybody with no dull moment.
Bonds Reinforced and Icons Retained
It was not just showing the motorcycles but to bond together, and this was not put aside when the honor of duct motorcyclists in Indonesia came along. The duck motor remains one of the most treasured insignias of classic motorcycling and gets along even with generations in Indonesia.
The successful event also, first and foremost, reflected that classic motorcycles are still very much alive and kicking in this country, that duck motors or whatever it be or their kind are not some relics of the olden days, but an icon with life beneath its wings. This celebration of heritage and community reaffirms that Indonesian people never lose their passion for motorcycles, as all walks of life come together.
