JAKARTA – PT BYD Motor Indonesia in cooperation with the BYD Beyond community host a truly successful event, “Bond and Belong”, at the Jakarta Equestrian Park, Pulomas. It held the event for the purpose of deepening bonds between BYD and its users while setting on pole position prestige through driving safety. Moreover, it came to present to the audience the most current breakthroughs BYD came up with.
For one, the BYD Beyond community is the official group of BYD electric car users in Indonesia. Officially declared in August 2024 in Jakarta, it has fast risen to 376 members. What makes this community unique, as noted here, is that it was made before BYD’s presence in the country became official, as proof that there was much ado about BYD’s electric vehicles even before their official release.

Consilience and Public Awareness
Luther Panjaitan, Head of PR and Government Relations, PT BYD Motor Indonesia, speaking during the event said, “This meeting will be a kind of gratitude to BYD electric car users in Indonesia, as well as to strengthen ties between community members and build a sense of belonging to the vision of the greener future by BYD.”
BYD, through this exhibition, intended to revitalize its commitment towards innovations in electric vehicles that could support the new vision for a greener transportation solution in Indonesia. Even if it served the purpose of building relationships, it provided valuable content for educating the community towards safe driving and designing a resourceful facility to create sustainable mobility.
An Education-Entertainment Combination Day
There were numerous activities lined up to engage the participants of the “Bond and Belong” event. Among the highlights was the Coaching Clinic session led by Sony Susmana, known driving safety expert and founder of Safety Defense Consultant Indonesia (SDCI).
Susmana emphasized the necessity of safe driving skills to prevent road accidents. Each one of the safety practices was directed to the participants so they could carry with them precious knowledge about the way of driving that involves safety.
Interactive Driving Zones on BYD Technology
The event incorporated several interactive zones that would highlight and put on display BYD’s cutting-edge automobile features and technological capabilities. These zones include:
- Zig-Zag & Acceleration Zone: BYD cars showed agility and acceleration in this Zig-Zag and Acceleration Zone. Participants were made to test the handling on a winding course.
- Bumpee Zone: This zone focused on the comfort and suspension of BYD vehicles. Participants were allowed to experience how well the cars handled uneven terrain.
- Blind Track Zone: Targeting the agenda of raising awareness among those with blind spots, it’s this zone that enabled people to have hands-on experience on how BYD vehicles eliminate blind spots with modern-day safety measures.
- Performa Zone: This zone demonstrates the entire performance of the BYD cars, thus giving the attendees quite admirable opportunities to test the car’s power and efficiency.

It is yet another feature that adds to convenience and flexibility.
Creating Community for the Future
Apart from Community Chairman Ryan Chandra was hyped for the event and the benefit given to the members. “We are indeed very grateful to BYD Indonesia for this full support in organizing this community gathering event. The driving safety session is indeed very beneficial for all of us,” said Chandra. He further noted that events like this help build a stronger connection among community members, who share a common passion for electric vehicles – and a commitment to safe driving.
This effort falls within BYD’s vision of encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles, while also supporting the growth and establishment of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. BYD hopes that nourishing a strong, engaged community, will speed up the transition to cleaner transportation options in the country.
