Tested Among 35 Cars at 2025 Automotive Award
The 2025 Automotive Awards is an annual program that celebrates the best cars within a series of segments. This year, 35 cars were assessed by each independent expert assessment teams of judges. The MG4 EV stood out and was awarded the top vehicle in the Small EV segment, demonstrating its outstanding performance, features, and innovation.
Impressive Performance and Long Range
The MG4 EV has a 170 PS electric motor with a rear-wheel drive (RWD) system and delivers a performance-oriented driving experience. There is also a practical range of 423 km (NEDC) in the MG4 EV that allows it to be effective for city use or longer distances.

Packed with Safety Features
Safety is a top priority for MG. The MG4 EV is equipped with comprehensive active and passive safety features, including:
- Front, side, and curtain airbags
- Stability Control System (SCS)
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
- 360-degree camera
- Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
- Strong structural framework
These features helped the MG4 EV earn a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, one of the highest standards in automotive safety.
MG Electric Cars in Indonesia
Advanced Battery Technology
MG places strong emphasis on battery safety. The MG4 EV uses high-quality batteries developed in collaboration with SAIC Motor and CATL, the world’s largest battery manufacturer. The batteries are:
- Tested under IP67 standards
- Equipped with Intelligent Battery Control Management to ensure temperature control and prevent overheating

Strong Sales and Local Assembly
Since its introduction to the Indonesian market in 2023, the MG4 EV has been popular with many purchasers. Moreover, in early 2024 MG began local assembly, which increased the attractiveness of the vehicle to buyers. Accordingly, the MG4 EV has sold over 2,300 units in Indonesia so far this year.
“This award confirms that our products are relevant, safe, and well-accepted by Indonesian consumers,” Frank Zhou concluded.
