V-Green, VinFast’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure unit, has revealed a major expansion of its business in Indonesia. It has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with four strategic partners to install around 63,000 charging ports for VinFast electric vehicles exclusively in Indonesia by 2025. This is a huge USD 300 million investment, almost double the original target.

Strategic Partnerships and Investment
The partners involved in this project include Chargecore, Chargepoint, Amarta Group, and CVS. Chargecore plans to invest a minimum of USD 30 million in 2025 alone, while Chargepoint, Amarta Group, and CVS have each committed to investing approximately USD 5.3 million annually. V-Green will directly invest in 20% of the stations, with the remaining 80% implemented through business cooperation contracts (BCC).
Deployment Timeline and Coverage
The deployment of the charging stations will kick off in May 2025, with the initial stations coming online in June. The network will target strategic provinces of Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, Batam, Bali, and Kalimantan.

V-Green is enticing investors with competitive terms, such as a power purchase price of 750 rupiah/kWh and a guaranteed yearly return of up to 25% over the first three years. Mai Truong Giang the Managing Director of V-Green Indonesia reported that the company is to partner with established players in Indonesia which is a key step in its growth of the global EV charging network.
