Speaking at the “First Impression of the All New Kona EV” event on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Jakarta, Awan revealed that nearly 500 individuals have pre-booked the vehicle within the past month. This level of interest underscores the growing acceptance and demand for electric vehicles in Indonesia.
Pre-booking Success
Adding to the positive sentiment, HMID Chief Operating Officer (COO) Fransiscus Soerjopranoto disclosed that the detailed Sales Purchase Commitment (SPK) figures for the All New Kona EV have reached an impressive 360 units. Fransiscus emphasized the importance of timely delivery to meet the high demand. “We will send it periodically. When we start launching it at GIIAS, our friends from HMID will adjust according to the order and start the distribution,” said Soerjopranoto.

The All New Kona EV marks a significant milestone for Hyundai as it becomes the company’s second electric car assembled locally at the Cikarang, Bekasi plant. Similarly, the Signature Standard Range provides around 400 km, and the Signature Long Range offers up to 600 km.
