Jakarta – Geely has officially returned to the Indonesian automotive market with the launch of the Geely EX5 electric car at the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, from February 13-23, 2025. The Geely EX5 is priced starting at IDR 400 million and comes equipped with Geely’s advanced Short Blade Battery, a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) type.

Revolutionary Short Blade Battery
The Geely EX5’s Short Blade Battery, with a capacity of 60.22 kWh, allows the car to travel up to 495 km on a full charge. This innovative battery offers more than 3,500 charging cycles and can last up to 1,000,000 kilometers. Geely argues that the Short Blade Battery has not only superior durability but is also safer with multi-layer protection using fireproof and anti-explosion technology.
Fast Charging and Efficiency
Charging the Geely EX5 is quick and convenient, thanks to its fast charging capabilities. Using DC fast charging, the battery can be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. For a full charge from 10 to 100 percent using AC slow charging, it takes about 6 hours.
Advanced Safety and Features
The Geely EX5 is loaded with advanced safety features, which include ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) Level 2. It provides 13 functions, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking, and others, to offer a safer driving experience.
The car also comes with a luxury interior that includes a 15.4-inch HD touchscreen Flyme Auto In-Vehicle Infotainment System, a 10.2-inch LCD instrument panel, and 256 ambient light colors. For extra comfort, the EX5 has 6-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function and power-adjustable leg support for the passenger seat. It has a Flyme Sound Premium Audio System with 16 speakers for an enhanced driving experience.
