Areas for Improvement
While the Jaecoo J7 PHEV demonstrated strong safety performance, ANCAP identified areas where enhancements could be made:
- Curtain Airbag Deployment: During the oblique pole test, the side curtain airbag did not deploy correctly, catching on interior trim. This led to penalties in side impact assessments.
- Child Presence Detection System: Although a child presence detection system is fitted as standard, it did not meet ANCAP’s performance requirements and was not eligible for points.
- Cyclist Dooring Warning System: The system provided information alerts but did not sound early enough to meet ANCAP scoring thresholds.
