JAKARTA – The Maxi Yamaha Day 2024 kicked off with a grand celebration last weekend, from Saturday, July 27, to Sunday, July 28. This inaugural event marked a historic milestone with the participation of over 1,500 bikers from various regions across Java and other islands. The event took place at the iconic Prambanan Temple Court in Yogyakarta, featuring a unique “Ride & Camp” concept titled “A TRU BRO” (ToUring BrOtherhood), fostering a spirit of camaraderie and community among Yamaha enthusiasts.
The Maxi Yamaha Day is not just a gathering of bikers; it’s a celebration of the Yamaha brand’s legacy and the loyalty of its customers. This year’s event was particularly special as it coincided with the 50th anniversary of Yamaha Indonesia, making it the largest Maxi Yamaha Day event ever held. Participants enjoyed a weekend filled with exciting activities, including group rides, camping, and various entertainment options, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Prambanan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
A Gathering of Bikers and Cultural Extravaganza
The event was a feast for the senses, blending the thrill of motorcycling with rich Javanese culture. Participants arrived in style, flaunting their Maxi Yamaha stickers and revving up the latest NMAX “TURBO” models, which were a highlight of the event. The new NMAX “TURBO,” driven by media crews during the NMAX ToUR Boemi Nusantara tour, was showcased, generating buzz and excitement among the attendees.
As the bikers entered the camping ground, they were greeted by a traditional Hanoman Choreography colossal dance, a performance that beautifully intertwined with the exotic setting of the Prambanan Temple. The presence of local artists and Yamaha brand ambassadors, including Komeng and Adul, added to the event’s vibrant atmosphere, offering a blend of comedy and cultural performances that delighted the crowd.
Strengthening Bonds and Introducing New Innovations
Antonius Widiantoro, the Assistant General Manager of Marketing Public Relations at PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Mfg, emphasized the event’s significance in fostering a sense of solidarity among MAXI Yamaha bikers. “As a form of appreciation to our consumers amidst the 50th anniversary celebration of Yamaha and welcoming a decade of MAXI Yamaha next year, we present the biggest MAXI Yamaha Day event in history at Prambanan Temple Court. Through this event, we not only want to strengthen the sense of solidarity among loyal and militant MAXI Yamaha bikers but also provide new experiences through the introduction of new NMAX ‘TURBO’ products,” said Widiantoro.
The event was not just about fun and entertainment; it also included a workshop and performance tests with a Dyno Test for the latest NMAX “TURBO” models. This allowed participants to experience firsthand the innovations and advancements Yamaha has made in motorcycle technology. Additionally, the after-sales program offered free checks and trade-in options for the NMAX “TURBO” & NMAX NEO series, giving loyal Yamaha consumers an opportunity to upgrade their rides.
Community Engagement and Environmental Responsibility
The Maxi Yamaha Day also highlighted Yamaha’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Participants were invited to plant Kenari trees in the Prambanan Temple area as part of the “Taman for Earth Reforestation” program. This initiative aimed to promote environmental conservation and encourage the biker community to contribute to preserving Indonesia’s natural heritage.
The event’s success was palpable in the enthusiasm of the participants. Sudjatmiko, a biker from Pemalang, Central Java, expressed his excitement, “This year’s MAXI Yamaha Day opening event is very exciting! In addition to its cool location in Prambanan Temple, the content delivered is also fresh and rich with Javanese culture. There are also many communities present, so they can stay in touch with YRFI colleagues from outside Central Java. The most special thing is the presence of Bang Komeng and Mas Adul, who are really funny. Next year, the Maxi Yamaha Day event must be even cooler.”
