Mazda has finally unveiled the design of its next-generation electric SUV, the EZ-60, in a brief teaser video made public on April 10, 2025. The futuristic and minimalist new model will be unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 23, and it is likely to be central to Mazda’s electric vehicle (EV) plan.

Elegant Design with Modern Touches
The Mazda EZ-60 carries the brand’s signature Kodo design language, similar to the previously introduced Mazda EZ-6. It features:
- A smooth and aerodynamic body
- Illuminated Mazda logo
- Stylish LED split headlights
- Hidden door handles
- Digital side mirrors (camera-based)
- Sleek roofline
- Functional air vents for better airflow
- Mazda lettering at the rear with bold taillights
However, one small design flaw noted by many is the exposed rear wiper, which slightly disrupts the overall clean look.
Based on Changan’s EPA1 Platform
Mazda created the EZ-60 together with Changan, one of China’s leading automakers. The EZ-60 is constructed on the EPA1 modular platform, the same foundation used by Changan’s Deepal S07 and Mazda EZ-6. Mazda’s partnership with Changan began in 2012 and also makes models such as the CX-5 and Mazda 3 for China.

Battery Options and Performance
The EZ-60 will likely come with the same battery options as the Deepal S07, including:
- 68.8 kWh LFP battery – up to 520 km range
- 80 kWh NMC battery – up to 628 km range
These specs suggest a strong focus on range and performance, suitable for both urban and long-distance driving.
Expected Global Launch as Mazda CX-6e
The EZ-60 will also be offered globally under the name Mazda CX-6e, expanding the brand’s international EV lineup. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but it is expected to be higher than the Deepal S07, which is priced between 149,900 – 197,900 yuan (approx. Rp 344–454 million).
