Technical Support from China Ensures High Standards
To ensure production quality, BAIC Indonesia trained seven local technicians in Beijing for two weeks before starting operations. Additionally, a team of eight engineers from BAIC International stayed in Purwakarta for a month to supervise and ensure the assembly meets international standards.
“This is not just about assembling cars; it’s about technology transfer, building expertise, and meeting global quality benchmarks,” Dhani explained.
Committed to Using Local Components (TKDN)

BAIC Indonesia also confirmed its plan to increase the use of local parts. Within the next 1–2 years, the BJ40 Plus is expected to reach 40% local content (TKDN). This aligns with the government’s push to boost the local manufacturing sector.
