On the other hand, Indonesia is growing in every aspect of economic growth. It has a direct impact on natural resources which are used in most of the transportation sectors. When there is more consumption of fossils than it leads to increased CO2 emissions which causes various atmospheric related problems.
According to a study “Electric Vehicle in Indonesia: The Road Towards Sustainable Transportation”, it is found that 46% of Indonesians are aware of the Electric Car Sizes as well as their availability. However, they believe that adequate infrastructure is required to adopt the Electric Cars.
There are reputed car manufactures who are working in this area like Tesla and BMW. You may check out their models namely Tesla Model 3 by Tesla Vehicle Manufacturers and BMW i3S by BMW. Compare their performance, safety, comfort, and many other important specifications. It cannot be avoided that the big players are entering to establish their Brand to manufacture the Electric Cars.
Indonesian Government also took various initiatives for the adoption of EV’s in Indonesia. The Government also providing a subsidy to the buyers of EV’s to generate awareness among Indonesian people.
Various incentives schemes are also working to maximize the use of EV’s, as a result, the Government is providing tax rebate also to the manufacturers of EV’s.
Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartanto, expects that by the year 2025, the total sales of EV accounts for at least 20 percent of total domestic vehicle sales. It indicates that the future of EV’s will grow in the coming future. More international players will enter to establish manufacturing plants for EV’s.
But, there are various challenges of EV Market in Indonesia which are range anxiety among buyers, lack of high performance, consumer concerns, availability of charging stations, etc. So, to overcome these challenges the government has to participate in 3 stages of Interpersonal Communication (initiate, attract, enhance) among the citizens of Indonesia for successful EV adoption.
