Overall Market Performance
The overall slowdown in car sales reflects the broader trend seen in April 2025, with a decrease in both wholesales and retail sales. However, the rise of BYD, particularly in the electric vehicle segment, signals growing consumer interest in EVs, which is likely to continue as more electric models enter the market.
As for other brands, Isuzu, Chery, Hyundai, and Mitsubishi Fuso are also maintaining steady performances, even if they don’t yet match the sales numbers of top brands.

Despite the drop in total sales what is very much true is that BYD is seeing great success in the Indonesian market which in particular is true in the electric vehicle sector. With the growth of electric mobility and more electric vehicles to hit the Indonesian market we may see different players take greater shares in the coming months.
