Tangerang, Indonesia – Toyota has announced an exciting development for its customers looking to maintain their vehicles on a budget. The Japanese automotive giant introduced a new line of non-original spare parts called T-Opt, which are more affordable compared to the original Toyota Genuine Parts. This move aims to provide a cost-effective solution for Toyota users without compromising on quality.
The announcement was made by Hiroyuki Oide, Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), during a press conference at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in Serpong, Tangerang on July 20, 2024. Oide highlighted that Toyota has always been committed to offering exceptional service to its customers. To that end, they have provided free service and original spare parts for seven regular maintenance sessions or up to 60,000 kilometers.
“We offer an extended service warranty for one year or 30,000 kilometers, provided that periodic maintenance is carried out every six months at an authorized workshop,” Oide explained. “However, we wanted to go beyond this and develop a more comprehensive after-purchase phase. This is especially for customers who have passed the T-Care period and need high-quality spare parts at affordable prices.”
The introduction of T-Opt stems from this commitment. The new range includes eight types of fast-moving spare parts: brake pads, oil filters, cabin air filters, wipers, v-belts, fuel filters, and brake shoes. Initially, these parts will be available for models such as Agya, Calya, Avanza, Veloz, Rush, Yaris, Vios, Kijang Innova, Fortuner, Hilux, and the upcoming Hilux Rangga.
TAM Marketing Director Anton Jimmi Suwandy elaborated on the distribution plan for T-Opt. “We have already distributed these non-original spare parts to 1,200 partner workshops and component stores across Indonesia. Additionally, the T-Opt spare parts will be available at the OtoXpert general workshop network, managed by Auto2000, which currently includes 37 workshops in major cities across Indonesia,” Suwandy said.
The introduction of T-Opt aims to bridge the gap for customers who require cost-effective maintenance solutions without compromising on the reliability and performance associated with Toyota. The non-original parts are expected to cater to a broad range of Toyota models and meet the high standards expected by Toyota customers.
While the specific price difference between T-Opt spare parts and Toyota Genuine Parts was not disclosed, the initiative is expected to make vehicle maintenance more accessible for a larger customer base. The introduction of T-Opt is part of Toyota’s ongoing efforts to provide value-added services and enhance customer satisfaction throughout the vehicle ownership experience.
With this new offering, Toyota hopes to capture a segment of the market that prioritizes affordability without sacrificing quality. The availability of T-Opt spare parts at both partner workshops and the OtoXpert network ensures widespread access, making it easier for customers to maintain their vehicles efficiently and economically.
Toyota’s decision to launch T-Opt is a testament to its commitment to innovation and customer-centricity. By providing an affordable alternative to original spare parts, Toyota aims to support customers in maintaining their vehicles over the long term, thus fostering loyalty and trust in the brand.
As the automotive market continues to evolve, Toyota’s proactive approach in addressing customer needs is likely to set a benchmark for other manufacturers. The launch of T-Opt not only enhances Toyota’s service offerings but also reinforces its reputation as a customer-focused company dedicated to delivering quality and value.
