Supporting Practical Work in Vocational Schools
The gift of Toyota Fortuner supports the increased practice training in the automotive programs by SMKN 2 Salatiga students. Through granting exposure to real-industry standard cars, TMMIN facilitates hands-on learning that is necessary to support their prospective careers in the automotive industry.
Bob Azam, Vice President Director of PT TMMIN, emphasized that this donation addresses the gap between the growing needs of the industry and the skill sets of young workers. “In an effort to produce ready-to-use industrial human resources, we implement social contribution programs that focus on the work skills of vocational school graduates,” said Bob Azam.
Strengthening Vocational Training through Industry Standards
TMMIN operates the “Implementation of Industrial Culture” program, aimed at providing students with workplace skills. SMKN 2 Salatiga is just one of the numerous vocational schools nationwide that have joined this program. Through these values of discipline, efficiency, and high standards of work, TMMIN has prepared students to face challenges in a competitive job market.
Aligning Education with Industry Needs

One of Toyota’s key goals is to bridge the gap between education and industry requirements. TMMIN actively supports the revitalization of vocational education in Indonesia, providing direct access to the latest automotive technologies. This initiative includes not only vehicle donations but also training sessions on Toyota’s production systems, such as the Toyota Job Instruction and Kaizen/Improvement techniques.
In addition to vehicle donations, Toyota has also provided 5R certification training (Ringkas, Neat, Clean, Maintain, and Diligent) to both students and teaching staff at the vocational schools it supports. This is part of an ongoing effort to instill industrial culture in students from an early age.

Industry-Involved Education for Better Job Opportunities
Bob Azam further emphasized that the collaboration between the education sector and the industry is crucial to developing highly skilled graduates. “The link and match between education and industry is a prerequisite for the birth of superior human resources,” he added.
By fostering close partnerships between vocational schools and industry leaders, Toyota is contributing to creating a workforce that is not only highly skilled but also ready to meet the demands of the global market.
Ongoing Support for Vocational Education
Toyota’s vocational education efforts do not end at Salatiga. In the past, the company donated vehicles and provided training for 28 vocational schools in West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta Special Region. Through such endeavors, Toyota is making an active contribution towards the employability of graduates of Indonesia’s vocational schools.
In the long run, TMMIN hopes to assist in the production of graduates who are not only technically competent but also have the appropriate work culture values to succeed in the automotive sector.
