Tangerang — In a groundbreaking move, Honda has introduced its N-Van EV Prototype, an innovative electric vehicle converted into a mobile cafe. This unique transformation marks the world’s first electric vehicle designed for such a purpose, emphasizing Honda’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The N-Van EV Prototype, originally a commercial electric vehicle from the N-Van series popular in Japan, has been modified in collaboration with the V-Clas bodywork company. This partnership focused on redesigning the vehicle’s interior to meet the requirements of a mobile cafe, resulting in features like a canopy, additional lighting, portable chairs, tables, and distinctive exterior graphics representing the Dreams Cafe brand.
In addition to its structural modifications, Honda has teamed up with Dua Coffee to offer a range of food and beverages from the mobile cafe. This collaboration aims to bring Honda’s innovations to various locations, fostering joy and education about electric vehicles without harming the environment.
Yessy Anastasia, Public Relations Department Head of PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM), expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile using the Honda N-Van EV Prototype allows us to bring Honda’s various innovations to more places, spreading joy while educating without having a negative impact on the environment.”
The Honda Dreams Cafe Mobile is set to operate in strategic locations such as car-free days, city parks, and community events. Its functionality is further enhanced by the Honda Power Exporter e: 6000, a device that converts the car’s battery power into AC electricity for other electronic devices.
The N-Van EV Prototype’s role extends beyond the mobile cafe. It has been used in Honda’s collaboration with Pertamina as a learning tool for electric car usage in logistics, serving various locations around Jakarta. Moreover, Honda has presented the Honda e electric car at the University of Indonesia for educational purposes and uses a similar model for historical site tours with the Jakarta Good Guide community.
Yessy Anastasia reiterated Honda’s commitment to sustainable technological innovation and customer education, saying, “Honda is always committed to providing education for sustainable technological innovation, while also getting closer to customers from various generations.”
This initiative highlights Honda’s dedication to eco-friendly innovations and its proactive approach to educating the public about sustainable technologies, reinforcing its position as a leader in the automotive industry.
