JAKARTA – Suzuki Indonesia has intrigued car enthusiasts by displaying a secret car frame during the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025. Without telling anyone the precise model, Suzuki exhibited the chassis of a soon-to-be-launched vehicle and left visitors as well as the industry guessing the model and meaning behind it.

Suzuki Showcases Heartect Chassis
Suzuki displayed a Heartect chassis at its booth, a frame design known for its lightweight yet robust construction. However, no official confirmation has been provided regarding which model this monocoque frame belongs to or whether it will be introduced to the Indonesian market in the future.
Industry speculation suggests that the frame bears similarities to the Suzuki Fronx, a model that has yet to be sold in Indonesia. When asked about the frame’s purpose, Hoshino Masaharu, Vice President of PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor, remained tight-lipped.
“In principle, I can’t be open about what car this will be,” said Hoshino Masaharu at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Friday (21/2/2025).
A Glimpse Into Suzuki’s Design Philosophy
Hoshino Masaharu expounded on the Sho Sho Kei Tan Bi philosophy that Suzuki adheres to in creating its cars. This philosophy focuses on creating car frames that are smaller, fewer, lighter, and shorter while maintaining maximum efficiency without sacrificing strength.
Suzuki asserts that its Heartect frame plays an important role in cutting carbon emissions. Since it was launched in 2013, this lightweight yet robust platform has been used on most Suzuki passenger vehicles—apart from the Jimny, which retains a ladder frame.
Efforts to Pursue Carbon Neutrality
Suzuki believes that carbon neutrality is not solely achieved through the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) but also by optimizing vehicle frame design. A lighter frame reduces emissions during both manufacturing and daily usage.
“If we talk about carbon neutrality, the answer is not solely EV. Not to belittle EVs, but Suzuki adheres to a multi-pathway concept,” explained Hoshino Masaharu. “The principle when talking about carbon neutrality is that not only the car’s usage but also its production must be considered, so carbon emissions can be reduced.”

The Advantages of Suzuki’s Lightweight Frame
Suzuki claims that its Heartect frame makes its vehicles 200 kg lighter on average compared to competitors’ models in the same segment. This weight reduction translates to:
- 20% energy savings in production
- 6% fuel efficiency improvement during usage
Despite its lightweight design, Suzuki reassures customers that safety remains a top priority. All Suzuki cars undergo third-party safety testing by NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) to meet stringent safety regulations.
“It does not mean that compact cars are not safe. With stricter regulations, Suzuki cars still pass the tests,” said Hoshino Masaharu.

Conclusion: A Big Reveal on the Horizon?
Suzuki’s mysterious car frame at IIMS 2025 has caught a lot of attention. Many are guessing whether it belongs to a new hybrid, a compact SUV, or even an electric car. The Heartect chassis shows Suzuki’s focus on making cars lighter, more fuel-efficient, and eco-friendly.
