JAKARTA – Entering the final week of the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025, PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI) introduced two new retro-style motorcycles, the Kawasaki W230 and Meguro S1. The two products reflect Kawasaki’s commitment to maintaining classic motorcycle heritage while adding modern performance.

Kawasaki W230 and Meguro S1: A Tribute to Japanese Heritage
Both motorcycles are designed with a strong retro touch inspired by Japan’s classic motorcycle era. The W230 is part of Kawasaki’s W series, which dates back to the 1965 Kawasaki 650-W1. Meanwhile, the Meguro S1 pays homage to the Meguro brand, a pioneer in Japanese motorcycle history, taking inspiration from the 1964 Kawasaki 250 Meguro SG.
“As a brand known for producing high-quality motorcycles, including the Ninja series, we are proud to introduce the W230 and Meguro S1 as authentic retro motorcycles with a Japanese heritage touch,” said PT KMI Head of Sales & Promotion, Michael C. Tanadhi, in a media statement on Friday, February 21.

Design and Features
The Kawasaki W230 comes with a retro-style instrument panel inspired by the W series, featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with an elegant 3D W emblem. The Meguro S1, on the other hand, includes a mix of analog and digital instrumentation, a classic design with the Meguro logo, and a fuel tank adorned with plated chrome, a tank shield, and a 3D Meguro emblem.
Both models incorporate
- Round headlights with black-chrome main covers
- Turn signal lights that enhance the retro look
- A fuel tank shaped like a water drop
- An exhaust with a steam shooter design, producing a distinctive classic sound
Engine and Performance
Both the W230 and Meguro S1 have a 233cc, 4-stroke, SOHC air-cooled engine, which produces 18 PS at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.6 Nm at 5,800 rpm. The engine is tuned to give a smooth and refined ride, contributing to their retro appeal.

Pricing and Availability
Kawasaki has set competitive pricing for both models:
- Kawasaki W230 – Rp 72.6 Juta (Jakarta OTR)
- Meguro S1 – Rp 79.2 Juta (Jakarta OTR)
Both motorcycles are expected to be available in Kawasaki dealerships across Indonesia shortly after IIMS 2025.
