While driving a classy car in Indonesia and enjoying its amazing interiors, powerful engine, and smooth drive which is all fun, it is equally important to ensure its clean interiors. Regular upkeep and maintenance of the car help you enjoy it for a longer time. Discovering chewing gum on the mat can put a dampener on your spirits but here we bring you a handy guide that will help you get rid of it without damaging the mat.
- It is important to try removing the gum from the mat of your car as soon as possible before it gets stubborn making it difficult to remove. Use ice cubes in a zip lock bag and place them on the gum. It will harden the gum making it easier to remove from the mat.
- Another way through which you can take out gum from the carpet is by using a fingernail brush, WD-40, and a degreaser. Apply WD-40 on the gum and let it sit for a while. Remove the stain using a fingernail brush followed by a vigorous scrubbing to get rid of the gum.
- Use your hairdryer and blow air on the gum directly. While doing so, ensure the fine fibers of the mat doesn’t melt. As the gum starts melting, scrape up using a plastic bag and remove it. Continue the process until the gum stain completely disappears.
Despite being careful, if there is gum sticking to the otherwise clean carpet, use any of the above methods to remove it completely, keeping your car mat in pristine condition.
